Takhassus Fil Ifta (Specialization in Islamic Jurisprudence)

At Jamia Haqqania, the Takhassus Fil Ifta program is designed for capable and selected graduates of the Darse Nizami. This program provides specialized training in Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) and the art of issuing fatwas. Over three years, students are trained to write fatwas, research complex legal issues, and find Sharia-compliant solutions to contemporary problems. In their final year, each student writes a research paper on a pressing Islamic legal issue, chosen under the guidance of expert teachers, which includes comparative study of the four major Islamic schools of thought.

Curriculum Overview:

  • First Year: Introduction to Ifta, basic Fiqh principles, inheritance laws, and practical aspects of writing fatwas.
  • Second Year: Advanced studies in Fiqh, legal judgments, and application of Islamic principles in modern contexts.
  • Third Year: Sharia standards, analysis of Pakistan’s Islamic laws, and research on critical Islamic legal matters.

This program is vital for those who aspire to become expert Muftis and want to serve the Muslim community by offering religious guidance on legal matters.
